Major rule violations
It is prohibited for a player to touch the net. One of the most common violations, the cause of which, as a rule, is a violation of safety regulations by volleyball players. Until 2014, touching the bottom of the net was allowed, but then the International Volleyball Federation tightened the rules to make the work of referees easier.
A player is prohibited from touching the antenna above the net, including the ball. Failure to comply with this rule, as well as the previous one, can lead not only to the loss of points, but also to injuries in the event of a collision between players.
It is prohibited to step beyond the center line to the opponent’s side of the court. The exception is the feet, if they are above the midline or at least partially touching it.
